Party 18/20 | Winter Wine Tasting
By Angela Edgemon, Graphic Design Intern
Two Caterers creates opportunity.
The opportunity to experience new things, to learn new skills, to meet new people. It's the opportunity to have opportunity.
It's taking on design projects that will be printed and distributed to hundreds, even thousands of clients. It's brainstorming and collaborating and creating with a talented team that busts out project after project. It's having the cutest dog in the world as the office mascot.
It's attending events I'd likely never experience otherwise, such as Two Caterers' annual Winter Wine Tasting, even when tickets are already sold out because I may or may not have definitely procrastinated purchasing-- thanks Erin. 😉
Not to mention that, probably more often than I'd care to admit, I follow Leslie Knope's blunt advice about wine: "I'm gonna be direct and honest with you. I would like a glass of red wine and I'll take the cheapest one you have because I can't tell the difference."
But what exactly is the Winter Wine Tasting?
Combine nine specially selected wines, a delicious spread of heavy hors d'oeuvres, and a lot of love and creativity, and you get an event that keeps people coming back every year.
After being tasked with designing the graphics for this event, the anticipation that buzzed around it (both from the Sales Team and our clients!) really made me want to create something special. I designed graphics mimicking the paint-brush, vibrantly colorful style of our holiday marketing campaign, Paint Your Holidays.
And when it was all finished, there was nothing quite like seeing our friends and clients use what I made. Signs printed and framed; scorecards marked up with tasting notes; recipe cards of our delicious (and my favorite) Peppadew Peppers for guests to take home. It's a giddy, smile-so-hard-my-cheeks-hurt kind of experience.
... Especially after sipping nine glasses of wine!
So whether it's designing for and attending a classy wine tasting or eating delicious dishes I can't even pronounce, I always know I'm going to be experiencing something new at Two Caterers.
